Why Office Hours?

People need to find their own tools to aid their own development. For a long time, I didn't realize what my tool was. I enjoyed counseling others who were in need of strong positive encouragement. I thought I was helping others, until a period of time when I stopped this activity, and felt something was sorely missing in my life. After some introspection, I realized that all this while, when I was encouraging others with powerful messages, I was really subconsciously healing myself by believing in the truth of the messages amplified by the effect it had on the receivers. When I stopped doing this, I was just as prone to depression as anyone else.

This understanding is the motivation for "Office Hours for Life." This is the most important class we have on campus: Life. We are the teachers and the students at the same time. Office Hours could be indoors or outdoors, and it could be held at any frequency we like. I encourage you to try this by slowing down, finding someone who needs a little bit of guidance, and offer the best guidance you can muster with great intention. If you've given or received Office Hours for Life, please share your story here.
